A Post from a Day in the Office (Hi there!)

Hello everyone, my name is Patty. I’m an intern from Indonesia but I’m currently studying in Japan (Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University). It is currently my 5th week here in Kannonyama Fruit Garden that I’ve become so used to living in the countryside. It was sunny today and I managed to take some good pictures (you should too)!

I came here with the intention of improving my Japanese language skills and to learn about agricultural business management. As you may know, interns can work in the field, packing/sorting, factory, office or in the parlour; the latest addition in Kannonyama Fruit Garden. Most of the time I work in the field, but as I would like to learn different aspects of the business, I asked the staff to let me visit every place and I did! *Yay*

Not all kinds of work are allowed to be done by interns, so I asked lots of questions about practically everything instead. The staff always try their best to answer my questions, even though sometimes it is difficult to communicate with a person whose Japanese is broken (a.k.a me). The people I met here are just the kindest and the sweetest, including my housemates in shataku (company’s house). I got a chance to share the house (plus food) with 9 other interns, which I’ll miss for sure.

Before coming here, I thought I would get more fit by working outdoors often. If you happen to have the same thought, I am sorry. It is a lot easier to plump yourself here, as Kaichou will try to do so since your first day. He occasionally takes us out to dinner or asks the parlour’s staff to give us parfaits and whatnot. One time he came to shataku at night to bring us a two containers worth of Nachurun (drinking jelly), just out of a small talk where someone mentioned that we are running out of it. It happened on my first week here and we are still trying to finish the jelly until this day.  

 

Apart from food, Kaichou also likes travelling. He took us to Kōyasan (Mt. Kōya) one day after work, out of the blue. In a barbecue we had, he said that he wanted to have a trip with the interns and trainees, but, he had not decided when. About 3 days later, he visited us in shataku and showed an e-mail of the hotel bookings. Although most plans are sudden, it has been fun! 

 By the way, Kaichou just gave me a pack of saba sushi as I am writing this. “Do you like sushi? Here.” So, I guess you got the picture? 😛

All in all, I have been enjoying my time in Wakayama. Some days were tough, either physically or mentally (or both), but there is always something new to learn from each day as I embrace the different experiences. I am thankful that the company is glad to help me learn and grow as well 🙂

Halo semuanya, nama saya Patty. Saya mahasiswa magang dari Indonesia, tapi sekarang sedang kuliah di Jepang (Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University). Minggu ini adalah minggu ke-5 saya di Kannonyama Fruit Garden, dan saya sudah sangat terbiasa tinggal di kota kecil ini. Hari ini cerah dan saya pergi mengambil beberapa foto (kamu juga yah)!

Saya datang kesini dengan niatan meningkatkan kemampuan Bahasa Jepang dan belajar tentang bisnis agrikultur. Seperti mungkin kamu ketahui, siswa-siswi magang disini bisa kerja di kebun, pengepakan/pemilahan, pabrik, kantor atau di kafe; yang merupakan tambahan terbaru di Kannonyama Fruit Garden. Saya hampir selalu bekerja di kebun, tetapi karena saya mau mempelajari macam-macam aspek dari bisnis ini, saya meminta staf yang bertugas untuk mengijinkan saya bekerja di semua divisi, dan saya sudah melakukannya! *Hore*

Tidak semua pekerjaan boleh dilakukan oleh peserta magang, jadi untuk itu saya banyak sekali bertanya. Staf disini selalu memberikan yang terbaik untuk menjawab pertanyaan-pertanyaan saya, meskipun kadang sulit untuk berbicara dengan saya yang Bahasa Jepangnya tidak fasih. Orang-orang yang saya temui disini sangat baik dan ramah, termasuk teman-teman seasrama perusahaan. Saya berbagi asrama perusahaan dengan 9 orang peserta magang lainnya yang akan saya sangat rindukan.

Sebelum datang kesini, saya pikir saya akan tambah sehat dengan bekerja banyak di kebun. Kalau kamu juga berpikir demikian, maaf ya. Lebih gampang untuk menggemukkan badan deh, karena bapak pemiliknya akan selalu berusaha supaya para karwayannya gemuk. Bapak pemilik kadang-kadang beliau akan mengajak kami pergi makan malam bersama atau meminta staf di kafe untuk menyunguhkan kami parfait dan lainnya. Suatu waktu, beliau datang tiba-tiba di malam hari dan membawa dua kotak berisi Nachurun (jeli minum), hanya karena ada seseorang yang bilang kalau di asrama sudah tidak ada jeli. Itu terjadi di minggu pertama disini dan kami masih berusaha menghabiskannya.

Selain makan, bapak pemilik juga suka jalan-jalan. Beliau pernah mengajak kita ke Gunung Koya sepulang kerja. Di satu acara barbekyu, beliau merencanakan karyawisata magang yang belum ditentukan kapan. 3 hari kemudian, beliau datang ke asrama perusahaan dan memperlihatkan semua pemesanan hotel. Meskipun banyak rencana mendadak, waktuku disini menyenangkan. Baru saja ketika saya menulis ini, beliau datang dan membawakan sushi ikan makarel. “Kamu suka? Ini”. Jadi, mengerti kan seperti apa orangnya? 😛

Intinya, aku sangat menikmati waktuku di Wakayama. Beberapa hari sangat melelahkan,secara fisik dan mental, tetapi, selalu saja ada sesuatu yang bisa dipelajari dari itu ketika saya merangkul semua macam pengalaman. Saya juga bersyukur perusahaan ini memberikan kesempatan untuk saya bertumbuh dan berkembang.

Untuk peserta magang berikutnya, saya doakan yang terbaik, semangat!

Hello everyone!
My name is Caroline from Germany, and even though I am introducing myself for the first time here, it is already my 5th of 6 month here at the beautiful Kannonyama Farm. As a rather long-term intern, I was happy to experience and be part of the whole process with every little stage or step that happens in this company before the product arrives at the costumer. Starting from planting the trees, preparing the watering system, over picking the fruits, preparing them for customers or the farther process of making them into jelly, juice, dry fruits etc., to packing and arrange them before the package is closed and ready to get picked up.
Next to all the amazing work experience, the chances to explore the culture and different places around are given very, very often. So let me tell you about our last trip:
In the end of June, beginning of July, we had the chance to take a little break from cutting grasses and visit one of Osaka’s famous summer festivals: The Aizen Festival. Therefore, the mother of a boy we are teaching English at the moment in our house, invited us to show us around there and, the best part, to dress us in a real yukata. (Yukata are traditional, Japanese cloths, kind of like the summer version of a kimono.) It was a first experience for all of us and we were more than excited. Even our hair was done, so that in the end we all looked very traditional and ready for the festival.
After arriving, we were pretty overwhelmed by so many food carts with pretty much every Japanese food you could imagine. We even tried the “Hashimaki”, Okonomiyaki rolled around chopsticks. Everything was so full of colours and people having fun, it was a very nice atmosphere. I even had the chance to ride a Japanese palanquin, or better I was hopping around. J I am not sure what it was for, but it was very fun and quite an experience, even though the men needed a little break after lifting me. 😀

After running around and taking pictured we finished our day at an “Izakaya”, a Japanese restaurant where you can also order a variety of different food.
It was a wonderful day with the best surprise at the end:

we received the yukatas as a present to take home! 🙂

Hello everyone, I’m the new intern who just arrived last Friday.
My name is Lea, I’m from France but I’m studying in Beijing, China, which I arrived from last Friday.
I will be staying at Kannonyama until the end of August. My hometown in France is called Saint-Tropez, it’s in the south of France more exactly in the Cote d’Azur

My trip to Kannonyama was supposed to be easy since from Beijing, it only takes 3 hours by plane but not everything went like planned so I spent my day in the airport and arrived at 9pm in Osaka. But even after day in the airport, Kaichou came to pick me up and was so nice with me that I forgot that my day had been tiring.

Since I arrived, I worked in different places and had to do different types of jobs : selecting fruit, taking care of the kaki trees or now introducing myself on the blog. I have learned already so many things since I arrived and I can’t wait to do all the different type of jobs so I can have a full experience of Kannonyama and go back to China with my knowledge.

I thought I was only going to work and see how working in Japan is but I also met really nice people who always try their best to help, the staff and also all the other interns always help and make me feel comfortable since my level in Japanese is really low. I just arrived few days ago and Kaichou already took me and the other interns to eat some delicious food: ramen, gyozas…

No let’s be honest: I can’t talk Japanese but I hope to learn a lot from my working experience here. I was scared before coming because I can’t talk Japanese and I didn’t know how was going to be my experience but after few days, I can already say that it’s going to awesome with new experiences, fun and happiness.

After that little introduction, I will finish by saying that I’m glad to have the opportunity to experience working in Kannonyama and I’m impatient to learn and experience new things !

Bonjour à tous, je suis la nouvelle stagiaire qui vient d’arriver vendredi dernier.
Je m’appelle Léa, je suis française mais j’étudie à Pékin, Chine d’où je suis arrivée vendredi dernier.
Je vais rester à Kannonyama jusqu’à fin Août. Ma ville natale en France est Saint-Tropez, cela se trouve dans le sud de la France plus précisément en Côte d’Azur.

Mon voyage pour Kannonyama est supposé être facile puisque depuis Pékin, cela ne prend que 3 heures par avion mais tout ne s’est pas passé comme prévu alors j’ai passé ma journée a l’aéroport et je suis arrivée à 21h à Osaka. Mais même après avoir passé ma journée à l’aéroport, Kaichou est venu me récupérer à l’aéroport et il était si gentil avec moi que j’ai oublié que ma journée avait été épuisante.

Depuis que je suis arrivée, j’ai travaillé à différents endroits et fait différents types de travail: sélectionner les fruits, prendre soin des plaqueminiers ou maintenant me présenter sur le blog. J’ai déjà appris tellement de choses depuis que je suis arrivée et je suis impatiente de faire tous les différents jobs au moins j’aurai une expérience complète de Kannonyama et je retournerai en Chine avec ce savoir.

Je pensais que j’aillais seulement travailler et voir comment le travail au Japon était mais j’ai aussi rencontré des gens adorables qui essayent toujours de leur mieux pour m’aider, les employés et aussi les autres stagiaires m’aident toujours et me font me sentir à l’aise puisque mon niveau de Japonais est vraiment bas. Je suis seulement arrivée il y a quelques jours et Kaichou nous a déjà moi et les autres stagiaires amenait manger de la nourriture délicieuse : ramen, gyoza …

Soyons honnêtes, je ne peux pas parler Japonais mais j’espère apprendre beaucoup de mon expérience professionnelle ici. J’étais terrifiée avant de venir ici parce que je ne parle pas Japonais et je ne savais pas comment mon expérience allait être mais après quelques jours, je peux déjà dire que cela va être génial avec de nouvelles expérience, du fun et de la joie.

Apres cette petite introduction, je vais finir en disant que je suis contente d’avoir l’opportunité de travailler à Kannonyama et que je suis impatiente d’apprendre et d’expérimenter de nouvelles choses.

Nathan Lefievre Day 1

おはよございます!

Yesterdqy 3rd June was my first day in Japan at Kannonyama. After a night on the traditional Japanese futon, Mr. Kodama showed me during the morning the different parts of the company. Firstly, the factory, in the city, with many big machines. After the factory we took the car to go to the main office of Kannonyama, to see the IT service and where the fruits are packed for sell. After visiting this part of the company we went to see the future new building of Kannonyama, planned to be finished in October!
For lunch, Mr. Kodama took me to the best ramen restaurant of the city. The ramen were really delicious. We then jumped again into the car to go to the shopping mall. Mr. Kodama let me choose the food I wanted to eat for my first week here.
After　all this, I went to Kokawadera Temple, the main temple of the city of Kokawa. It is one of the largest temples in Wakayama prefecture. The journey in the temple starts by a long path right after the entrance, where you can admire several small temples and gardens. It is a very quiet and peaceful place, where you can rest and enjoy tranquility. The Hondo, the main hall of the temple is truly beautiful and is worth the visit.
After leaving the temple, I decided to walk a bit in the city, to discover what a real small Japanese city is. I was astonished by the tranquility of the streets and also the cleanness.
Finally, I went back to my room and rested for the evening.

 

Ce 4 juin marque mon deuxieme jour a Kannonyama, Hier, apres une premiere nuit sur un futon Japonais traditionnel, M. Kodama m’a fait decouvrir les differentes parties de l’entreprise. Premierement, l’usine, ou sont presentes de nombreuses machines qui me sont encore inconnues. Nous sommes ensuite alles au batiment principal de Kannonyama pour decouvrir les bureaux et le lieu d’empaquetage des fruits. Nous sommes ensuite alles sur les lieux du futur batiment de l’entreprise, qui sera inaugure en Octobre!    
Pour le dejeuner, M. Kodama m’a emmene chez le meilleur restaurant de ramen de la ville. Les ramen etaient reellement delicieuses. Nous avons  ensuite a nouveau grimpe dans la voiture pour nous rendre au plus grand magasin d’alimentation de la ville. J’ai pu choisir les produits que je souhaitais manger pendant la semaine a venir.            
Apres tout ceci, je me suis rendu au temple Kokawadera, le principal temple de Kokawa. C’est l’un des temples les plus grands de la prefecture de Wakayama, ou nous sommes. Le voyage dans ce temple commence avec un long chemin en pierre depuis lequel on peut admirer plusieurs petits temples et jardins. C’est un endroit tres calme et agreable ou on peut se reposer et profiter de la tranquilite ambiante.  Le Hondo, le principal batiment du temple, est vraiment magnifique.                                          
Apres avoir quitte le temple, j’ai decide de marcher un peu dans la ville, pour decouvrir la vie dans une petite ville Japonaise.J’ai ete fascine par la tranquilite des rues et aussi leur properte, ce qui change beaucoup de la France.

Hi everyone and nice to meet you.

I’m Ambrine and I’m gonna stay at the farm until the end of August so this shouldn’t be my first and last post.

I arrived here a week ago and already did a lot!

The very fist day, kaichou treated us to ramen in his favorite restaurant and it was during this evening that I got to be introduced to Larissa, Polina and Caroline. They explained a lot to me during those few days: about how things work in the intern house or work in general.

Everyone here is really nice and very patient. With the language barrier, it is sometimes hard to make myself understood and understand others thanks to my still poor japanese. But we are still able to communicate.

So far the work I had was to start the building of a wall (which was interesting since it was a first for all of us), putting labels on products and relaxing: the temperature is constantly increasing so we had to take breaks often. The rainy season will start soon too so we’ll probably work more regularly inside.

Though I came here to translate the website in french, as a beginner in coding, this could prove to be more difficult than expected. It will be interesting experience and challenge!

In the mean time I get post more diverse pictures, please enjoy these with all the green and mountains that Wakayama has to offer.

Salut tout le monde et enchantée.

Je m’appelle Ambrine et je vais rester à Wakayama jusqu’à la fin Août: ce ne devrait alors pas être mon premier et dernier article.

Je suis arrivée ici il y a une semaine et a déjà fait beaucoup de choses.

Le tout premier jour, kaichou (président si on traduit) nous as invités à manger des ramens dans son restaurant favoris et c’est durant cette soirée que j’ai pu faire la connaissance de Larissa, Polina et Caroline. Elles m’ont expliqué beaucoup de choses ces derniers jours: comment les choses fonctionnent dans la maison des internes ou pour le travail en général.

Ici, tout le mode est très gentil et patient. Avec la barrière linguistique, j’ai parfois du mal à me faire comprendre et à comprendre les autres grâce à mon japonais encore pauvre. Mais on arrive quand même à communiquer.

Le travail jusqu’à présent fut de commencer la construction d’un mur (ce qui fut intérressant vu aue c’était une première pour nous tous), coller des étiquettes sur des produits et se relaxer: la température ne fait qu’augmenter ce qui faisait aue nous devions prendre des pauses souvent. La saison des pluies va bientôt commencer aussi; on va donc probablement travailler plus régulièrement à l’intérieur.

Même si je suis venue ici pour traduire le site web en français, en tant que débutante dans la programmation, cela pourrait s’avérer plus difficile que prévu. Ce sera une expérience et un défi intéressant!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted. So today’s my last day here at Kannonyama. At the end of the month I’ll be returning to Tokyo & Waseda. Its all very bittersweet. & I’m getting ready to go, and will be joining the other interns after lunch for my last day of work & to bid everyone goodbye.
But first off, I’ll recount the fun events that happened the last couple of days.

 

Two fun things happened. Firstly, a tv crew came & did a segment on Kannonyama and secondly, I went to Nara with the other interns.
So the other day, the tv crew came with a local celebrity and filmed us at work, we were also interviewed with kaichou. It was fun and bizarre all at the same time. For lunch we had BBQ atop the mountain, with the spectacular view. Although throughout the day, the weather was on and off, mostly cloudy. And it rained in the afternoon. It was funny, since we were doing the tasting session and the rain was lashing. So we were probably shivering on camera, on top of looking confused.
We finished the day off with BBQ as well, this time having a view of Wakayama in the night, the mountains casting a shadow on the lit-up towns beneath.

 

Yesterday, we went to Nara. It was fun, we saw the Bambi’s relatives. A lot of her relatives, they were everywhere. Polina kept buying them food and they were all over her. It was really funny. Aside from the bonding time with the deers, we were able to see the numerous temples. ANd the great Budhha. It was magnificent to say the least. We ended the day shopping, getting souvenirs and with Polina buying numerous face masks.

Ung mga nakaraang araw, ang daming nangyari. Pinaka una, may dumating na tv crew dito sa farm, tas nag shoot sila ng segment. Including ung mga fruits, tas nag interview sila ng mga may ari, si Kaichou tas ng asawa nya. After noon, kami din kinausap, pero ang saklap kasi lahat Japanese kaya ang hirap magkaintindihan. Pero okay naman, nalaraos naman. Tas ayun nga nag BBQ kami sa hapon tas sa gabi. Ang lakas ng ulan nung hapon tas ang lamig na nung gabi. Pero okay lang naman, masaya parin. Ang dami nga naming nakain eh, puro karne. Tas kahapon nag punta kami ng Nara. Ang ganda, ang daming deer tas masaya kasi halos walang mga tao. Siguro kasi di naman peak season. Kaya ayun ang dami naming pictures tas napuntahan namin lahat ng temples at shrines. Tas nung late afternoon na namili kami ng mga kung ano ano. Tas nag dinner kami sa coco curry bago nag hintay ng train habang umiinom ng starbucks.

Yesterday we had the opportunity to work at a very special place. Despite the wet and cold weather, the view of blossoming Plum trees was really beautiful, so that we could forget about everything else. It felt almost like we were camping with our small team while collecting cut branches. Especially because afterwards we made a fire with the old bamboos trees we collected the day before. In this cozy atmosphere, together with the Kaichou, who visited us on our break, we had a warm snack and just enjoyed the time we could talk to each other about different things.

Вчера нам выпала честь поработать в одном очень особенном месте, а именно среди цветущих деревьев Сливы.Несмотря на погоду, обстановка больше напоминала отдых. Особенно потому что после этого собравшись нашей маленькой компанией мы разожгли костер, вокруг которого атмосферненько поговорили о всякой всячине и перекусили.

Today turned out to be a busy and fun day. First off, Kaichou brought us to the greenhouse to help pick oranges. We learned how to identify the ones that were sweet, as opposed to the sour ones. And yes, it involved a lot of tasting. Afterwards, Kaichou brought us to a farmer’s supermarket and we had coffee at the adjoining coffee shop, overlooking the prefecture. It was beautiful.

 

Afterwards, Kaichou drove us back to the places where we select lemons. We did some quality selecting till lunch. After which, we had lunch at a local Ramen shop. Kaichou informed us that the restaurant was quite famous, we soon realized why.

 

With our bellies filled with delicious ramen, Kaichou once again brought us to a different working site. It was atop the Buddha mountain. There we helped gather the bamboos, simultaneously enjoying the view. The entire experience was peaceful and exhilarating all at the same time. We were on the edge. During our break, we sipped orange cider and swung peacefully on the swings. Furthermore, the weather went through a cycle of sun and snow, we were able to see the mist gather as the sun shied away.

 

Kaichou to the rescue picked us up and took us home to drop off our things before going for groceries and dinner. It seems we went a bit too crazy doing the groceries, there was so many Japanese food we wanted to try, it was great fun. For dinner Kaichou took us to another famous restaurant, this time for okonimiyaki. Kaichou knew the owner, I swear, the man knows everyone in this prefecture. We practiced Japanese, as we congratulated the owner with his son doing the entrance exams for university.

 

After dinner we came back to where we helped gather the bamboos since Kaichou needed to drop some food for his staff. Again, the view was amazing, you could see the towns all lit up, against the silhouette of the mountains. As if that wasn’t sufficient enough, we were able to see all the stars. The constellations, scattered on a coal canvas. I didn’t realize just how much I missed seeing the stars. The rare glimpses in Tokyo pales in comparison.

 

When we go back to the house, Kaichou and I played around the piano he brought over earlier. Yes, the piano he brought over upon learning I could play. We laughed and bonded, as he played us different songs, teasing the other interns for not being familiar enough with the German national anthem. As he played the tune on the piano. To end the night, we tried the yuzu curd, all in approval.

My first week of being at Kanonyama Fruit Garden is over. Everyone is very friendly and helps a lot. Even though I spend my childhood at the country side, I almost forgot how hard it can be to do field work. But still, working with hands and body feels amazing.

It’s very busy here now. Despite cold and rainy weather everyone is working hard. We, the international interns, also, trying our best. This weak we mostly were busy with selecting Lemons. It sounds easy, but it is not. We need to pay attention to many details such as weight, color, and shape, so that every customer can enjoy the products of Kanonyama Fruit Garden to a maximum.

In the short breaks that we spend with our colleagues, we talk about different things while teaching each other Japanese and English. We have a lot of fun together.


Первая неделя моего пребывания в Каноняма подошла к концу. Несмотря на то, что своё детсво я провела в деревне и работа в поле мне не чужда, оказывается это очень тяжело. Но не смотря на это, работать телом и руками доставляет огромное удовольствие. Все очень приветливые и всегда помогают как могут, так что мы чувствуем себя очень комфортно.

На данный момент работы много. Несмотря на холодную и дождливую погоду, каждый работает не покладая рук. Мы, стажеры, тоже стараемся как можем. На этой неделе мы в большей степени занимались сортированием лемонов. Казалось бы легко. Но на самом деле не очень. Нужно обращать внимание на различные детали,такие как вес, цвет и форма.

Так же в наши небольшие паузы мы общаемся с нашими коллегами и пытаемся учить друг друга английскому и японскому языку. Прогресс уже налицо.

After almost 13 hours of traveling from Tokyo, a Kannonyama human came to my rescue. I took the night bus from Tokyo, and then trains to Kokawa staion. From which I walked to the farm. In retrospect it was ill-thought, as it took almost an hour with my luggage. However, as I got closer, a staff at Kannonyama realized I was one of the interns and proceeded to give me a lift to the farm.

 

Despite the rough start, I feel like this experience is one I will remember for the rest of my days. Once I arrived, Kaichou showed me around the farm and introduced me to the family. Afterwards, we went shopping for my groceries. After meeting everyone, we went straight to work. We selected lemons until the end of the day.

 

In the evening we had a welcome / going away party for myself and the another intern. We had bento and some drinks. It was fun, we talked about international politics.

Hence, here’s a picture of me writing this post. Smile and all.

 

Pagkatapos ng mahabang byahe galing Tokyo, sa wakas nakarating din ako ng Wakayama. Medyo malayo, pero pag dating dito okay naman. Mabait nman ung mga tao, pati maayos naman ung guest house na pinag iistayan ko. Malapig nga lang, ka share ko ung dalawa pang intern na galing ng Germany. Tas nung kinagabihan na, nag arrange sila ng welcome party, kumain kami ng bento tas drinks after.

Shouchan went back home to Taiwan recently. We had a nice send-off for her though, with a big group dinner at a local restaurant and a little karaoke afterwards. Thanks for being my intern buddy Shouchan, it will be pretty lonely without you here.

 

But there is definitely plenty to keep me occupied. Things are getting busy at Kannonyama now that we’re in December. Apparently, there’s a custom called ‘oseibo’ in Japan where in December you give gifts to those people that have done something for you throughout the year as a sign of thanks for their efforts. Luckily for Kannonyama, fruit is a common gift of choice and orders have certainly increased in the last few weeks. I’ve been helping out a fair bit with the packing team as best I can preparing the orders, etc. Occasionally I’ve also been doing some field work and in the office making the English website. Not long now and it’ll be done I think!

Over the last month there’s been a lot of preparation and anticipation for the annual Kannonyama thanksgiving festival, which we finally had last week! We had a great turnout of festival-goers and we couldn’t have asked for better weather. Throughout the day, there were plenty of activities and entertainment organised. There were even a couple of celebrity appearances too with Wakayama girl group Fun x Fam and Maya Ayahane stopping by to perform. At the festival, you were able to pick your own mikans in the nearby field, participate in the mikan hunt , join in the group games and watch the fireworks display. Almost all of the staff were able to stop their usual work and come join in and it was nice that everyone was together in one place. It was good fun and there was certainly a lot to be thankful for

最近在為一年一度的感謝祭做準備~~ ^o^

I’ve always wanted to experience a ryokan and this week I finally stayed at one!

 

Kaichō took Shōchan and I to the beautiful Hiinanoyu Ryokan near Wakayama City. We wore yukata, bathed in an onsen, had relaxing massages, slept on tatami mats and ate an assortment of delicious food prepared by the skilful Hiroto Akama. We also went and checked out the nearby Awashima Jinja (the famous doll shrine) and Wakayama Castle. It was a fantastic couple of days jam-packed with culture and new experiences that I’ll never forget. どうもうありがとうございました.

 

On a side note, I experienced my first earthquake today! A 5.2 magnitude one at that. Let’s just say that one experience is plenty, thanks.

Yesterday we spent the day at the LOHAS festival in Osaka, a festival promoting sustainable lifestyles. The event was HUGE and a lot of fun.  At the festival, Kannonyama had a stall selling a few products including fruit jellies, drinks, honey and some fresh fruits. I helped in the stall (to the best of my ability) handling sales, offering samples to passerby-ers and calling out the infamous ‘いらっしゃいませ!’

 

Lots of couples and families with their young kids were out and about enjoying the fine weather. There were endless rows of stalls with cute crafts and delicious food on offer, it was hard not to buy everything in sight. I really enjoyed hanging out with the staff, greeting customers and just being in the festive atmosphere. Heading to another festival next week too which I’m really looking forward to now

一路幽靜的散步到奧之院弘法大師御廟~~
一進到御廟內需要很莊重安靜!!!

Shōchan and I had an adventure day this week on our day off in Wakayama City. It was a lot of fun! We visited Wakayama Castle, a picturesque old castle that sits upon a hill looking over the city. It was beautiful and rich with history. We also went to a place by the sea called Marina City where we had super fresh sashimi sushi and walked along the ocean boardwalk. Of course, we also made time for a spot of shopping while we were there (I just can`t go by a 100 yen shop without a little look around). All in all, it was a great day and really nice to get out and about and explore more of beautiful Wakayama.

The last few days I’ve been doing field work (enchi) up at the mountain base.

 

There, I’ve learned how to pick mandarins (mikan)  and persimmons (kaki) which are in season at the moment. We don’t have many persimmons in Australia so it was really interesting (and tasty) to learn more about them. There were two types, Taishu and Kinokawa. We were only picking the Taishu variety, so I had a quick lesson on the difference – basically they’re slightly bigger, have a darker stem and are sweeter. It was peaceful work in the early morning sun.

 

Out in the field, we also fixed the fence surrounding the fruit trees. Apparently there are wild boars (inoshishi)  which often try and have a snack on the Kannonyama fruit. Our task was to reinforce the existing fence with metal stakes and secure them with zip ties. Hopefully, that’ll keep them out!

 

Enjoyed finally meeting the enchi group and torturing them with my bad Japanese. ごめん！Looking forward to trying out the other departments too

在蜜柑園四周的圍籬做加強，釘上鐵條固定！！讓山豬不能鑽進蜜柑園偷吃！！！ ˋoˊ ~~~
下午採太秋柿，把整片山的柿子全部摘取完畢 YA~~~ \^o^/ ~~~
雖然疲累，但大家一起工作一起聊天，真的很有趣！！

The perfect balance of sweet and tart, the mikan [みかん] (or mandarin orange) is undeniably one of the most delicious fruits. As the most popular type of Japanese orange, the mikan holds a special place here in Japan. So special, in fact, that every year on the second Sunday of October, a festival is held to celebrate it! The festival is known as ‘Mikan Mastsuri’ and is held at the Kitsumoto Jinja, a Shinto shrine in Kainan, Wakayama.

 

It just so happened that the Mikan Matsuri for 2016 was yesterday, day three of my internship here at Kannonyama Fruit Garden, and I had the pleasure of attending it with Kannonyama owner, Yoshi.

 

The festival began with a very traditional Japanese ceremony held inside the shrine. Most attendees were representatives of the neighbouring fruit companies and each brought offerings of mikan products from their respective farms. The ceremony was led by the ‘Kannushi’, the temple leader, accompanied by his son as well as a young girl called a ‘miko’. Admittedly, I didn’t really understand what was going on or being said, but nevertheless, it was fascinating to be able to witness such an intricate ritual showcasing the rich Japanese culture. Highlights included a procession of food offerings, a beautiful dance by the young miko, a blessing by the Kannushi using an object called a ‘nuki’ and a performance by a children’s choir. Following the ceremony, there was a dance display of the ‘komainu’, a kind of lion-cross-dog creature commonly seen at Shinto shrines and celebrations. The dance could be likened to the dragon dance seen at Chinese festivals where a dance team manipulates a flexible figure to mimic the movements of the komainu. The dance depicted a fierce battle between the komainu and human warriors and was a mesmerizing sight. However, I have to admit I felt sorry for the dancers at the back who held their arms high for almost 30 minutes! Kudos to them. The next and final part of the festival was by far my favourite – an activity known as ‘mochimaki’ or rice cake scattering. Basically, mochi and candy is thrown from the second-story of a building into a crowd of people below and the aim is to catch as much food as possible, using whatever tactics you can. To my surprise, the Kannushi offered for me (the only foreigner at this small-town event) to do the throwing – a rare and sought-after opportunity for which I am very grateful. It was soooo much fun. I’m not sure if it was the power or the hilarity of seeing people scrapping for food, but it was an experience and a sight I will not soon forget.

 

The festival was a unique and delightful event and I have to say that I now have more appreciation for the little orange citrus. It was a great start to my internship here at Kannonyama Fruit Garden, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store next…

Qはちみつが結晶した場合どうしたらいいですか。
A湯煎していただく事により液状に戻ります。
（はちみつの結晶化についてページへ）
鍋に50～ 60 度位のお湯を用意して、結晶したはちみつ商品のキャップを緩めてから容器ごと鍋に入れ湯煎してください。結晶状態により結晶が溶けるスピードは異なりますが、30 分～1時間程度で元の状態に戻ります。また湯煎の際、結晶したはちみつは、中心部まで熱が通りにくい為、スプーンや菜箸などで結晶部を砕くようにかき混ぜながら湯煎していただく事をお勧めします。
湯煎にて結晶を溶かしても、いずれはちみつは再度結晶いたしますが、湯煎を行う際、小さな結晶も含め、完全に全ての結晶部分を溶かしていただいた方が、何度も結晶を溶かす手間が減り、再度結晶するまでの期間が伸びます。

 

Q:若蜂蜜已是結晶的狀態該怎麼做才好呢？
A：隔水加熱的話，就能恢復成液態。
(詳細請翻閱至關於蜂蜜結晶化的頁數)
請將已結晶的蜂蜜商品其瓶蓋稍微打開，放置於裝有50∼60℃熱水的鍋子中並隔水加熱。
根據結晶的狀態，溶解的速度也會有所不同，但是半小時至一小時間，就能恢復成原本的狀態。
在隔水加熱時，已經結晶的蜂蜜，因為中心部分的熱度較難以傳遞，因此以湯匙或是長筷子之類的物品，把結晶的部分弄碎並加以攪拌的隔水加熱方式，是最為推薦的。
在隔水加熱，溶解結晶之後蜂蜜有再度結晶了。但是在隔水加熱時，較小的結晶也要包含在內，是完全的溶解全部結晶部分的方法。但是，在幾次的費時費力溶解後，結晶會逐漸減少，直到再次結晶之前，其時間也會延長。

之前在台灣的時候🇹🇼
我很討厭吃已經軟掉的柿子( ຶД ຶ)
但是我在日本學到了新的軟柿子吃法(´ｰ∀ｰ`)
首先把柿子冰到冰箱(๑˙³˙)و
再來把葉子附近的地方切掉挖洞(*`∀´*)
最後請不要把它想成是軟柿子\(//∇//)\
想成是柿子口味的果凍的話會變得很美味喔((o(♡´▽`♡)o))

很甜很好吃喔而且一點也不澀(´﹃｀*)
所以我超級推薦的呦｡+ﾟ(σ’∀’)σﾟ+｡

 

台湾では、あたしは柔らかい柿が嫌いでした( ຶД ຶ)
でも、日本で新しく柔らかい柿の食べ方を習いました(*´σЗ`)σ
まず、冷蔵庫に入れてください(@`▽´@)/
次に、ヘタの部分をくり抜いてください( ﾟ▽ﾟ)/
最後に、柔らかい柿だと思わないでください(๑́•∀•๑̀)ฅﾃﾍ-
柿ゼリーだと思ったら、美味しくなるよʬʬʬ

写真では太秋って柿で、甘くて美味しいですよ( ´⚰` )b
それに、渋くない( ¯ᒡ̱¯ )و!!!!!!!!

Q:為什麼蜂蜜會凝固呢？
A:因為許許多多的原因重疊而造就出蜂蜜的結晶。
■容易讓蜂蜜結晶的條件
▪️蜂蜜中，比起果糖，葡萄糖的成分比較多時。
(舉例來說，金合歡蜂蜜是被稱作為較難結晶的蜂蜜。)
▪️當蜂蜜中有氣泡時，再加上震動之類的行為時。
▪️放置低於氣溫15～16℃以下的場所時。
▪️放置於溫差大的場所時。
▪️超過保存期限時。

 

Qなぜ、はちみつは固まるのですか。
A様々な要因が重なりはちみつは結晶いたします。
■はちみが結晶しやすい条件
・はちみつ中のブドウ糖分が果糖分より多い場合。
（例えば、アカシアはちみつは結晶しにくいはちみつと言われております。）
・はちみつに気泡があり、振動などが加わった場合。
・外気温が15～16℃以下になった場合。
・保管場所の気温差が生じた場合。
・長期保存した場合。

〇蜜柑花蜂蜜
“蜜柑花蜂蜜是採集自五月中旬所盛開的蜜柑花之其白色花朵。因為蜜柑的花朵，開花期間僅有十天，因此相當的珍貴。而沒有雜味是它的特別之處。”

〇百花繚亂蜂蜜
“百花密室採集自野山上各式各樣的眾多花朵而製成。與蜜柑花蜂蜜相比的話，是有些許的茶色。”

昨天包裝了50個左右٩( ‘ω’; )و

為了29號的關東煮大會🍢
從27號就開始準備(›´ω`‹ )

除草結束後得到了名叫”太秋”的柿子以及”51%溫州蜜柑碳酸果汁飲料”(≧∇≦)/
非常的美味呦(๑´⍢`๑)

之前會長給了我一個說是很美味的柿子(๑´ڡ`๑)
但事實上卻是超級苦澀的(༎ຶ⌑༎ຶ)…
因為經常被會長惡整(´ . .̫ . `)
導致現在的我總是質疑著會長的善意(-ω-；)

Hello everyone.
Yesterday I left Kannonyama. The 3 months I’ve been in Japan have gone by too quickly.
But, at some point around when I first arrived, in the self-introduction that I was forced to write by Harada-san, I wrote that I while in Kannonyama, I wanted to mature (like an Orange tree…). And I really do feel like I have.
I’m sorry for not updating everyday!

皆さん、お久しぶりです。 昨日は観音山から離れる日でした。今までの三ヶ月は本当に短く感じます。 でも、私が着いたばかりのとき、原田さんに書かせられた自己紹介に「和歌山にいる間に、みかんの樹のように成長していきたい」って書きました。本当に成長してきた気がします。 皆さん、毎日報告しなくてすみませんでした！ 読んでくれてありがとうございました！ また観音山に行きますよ！皆さん、元気でね！！

Today Uki the intern was also at home baking sweets made from Kannonyama’s produce which I was lucky enough to try!
They were super tasty! It’s great living with someone who can cook! ☆

Good evening everyone!
I’m sorry for not updating again!!!
Last week I went to the orange fields for the first time in a while! I was removing unneeded fruit in order to allow the trees to grow oranges to their full potential ☆
I went to a hot spring with my Boss and Hideyoshi-san who is doing an internship at Kannonyama. We ate soft ice-cream that’s made from Kannonyama’s 100% Mikan Juice. It was pretty tasty! ♪

Good evening everyone!
It’s been raining a lot recently! It’s like it’s the monsoon season again.
Yesterday I went digging for potatoes! I went with the new intern Toyofuku-san and Ise-san! It was a bit difficult but it was fun! There were too many spiders and I screamed more than once…T_T; But there were cute froggies so I recovered a bit!
I translated again all day today!
I’m doing my best every day☆

Good morning everyone!
This week has been really busy so I couldn’t update, I’m really sorry!!
Do you remember that I went to the grape fields on Tuesday? Well the photos that Shachou took are on the website! I’m gonna end up acting like a celebrity soon enough☆
We had another barbecue on Wednesday evening! It was really fun!
Around lunchtime on Thursday the three guys from Kinki University went home. I’ll miss them but I was glad I got to meet them. You can meet so many people at Kannonyama♪
I’ve been doing mostly translation this week but yesterday I went to Ashiya, Kobe and to Osaka. I went to see the different ways in which fruits are used in different places. I ended up going to 4 different cafes so by the time it was evening I thought I was going to throw up I was so full! But I got to eat amazing fruits all day so ah well tongue emoticon
I’m back to translation today! Wish me luck ☆

水曜日の夕方はまたバーベキューしました！楽しかった～☆
木曜日の昼ぐらい、近大生の三人が帰ってしまいました。すごく寂しいけど、会えて良かったです～観音山で本当に色んな人に会えます♪
今週ほぼ毎日翻訳してるけど、昨日は神戸の芦屋と大阪に行ってきました！色んなフルーツの使い方を勉強しに行ってきました☆4つのカフェに行ったので、夕方になると、吐きそうなぐらいお腹いっぱいになってしまいました！でも、素晴らしいフルーツが食べられたから、仕方がないですもんね！(^。^)
今日また翻訳に戻りました！頑張ります☆

Now that Ellie’s gone, it’s kinda lonely…T_T
Today and yesterday’s fruit tasting was grapes! They’re sweet and delicious~I heard they’re going to get even more delicious! I can’t wait~
I’m doing my best translating again today! I hope I can make a great English website☆
This morning I went to the grape fields for a little bit. The fields were massive, the air was clear, it was really great. I also got a load of grapes! 😀
Three students from Wakayama University have arrived last week! They all seem really nice so I hope we can get along well!
It really it all-you-can-eat fruits here!

Hello everyone! Today is really hot again☆
Today was my first translation for work! I translated 1 page of the website. If I say “1 page”, then you’d think it’s probably really short, right? However, in reality, that page was 2500 Japanese characters! AMAZING RIGHT?? I worked really hard with Ellie, so I’m exhausted♪
Today is Ellie’s last day, so I got Ellie and the three interns to let me take a photo of them☆Saying goodbye…it hurts right…　T_T
Tomorrow I’m going back to Kobe with Ellie, so please don’t forget me before Monday!

 

Ellie here! Today’s translation was fun! In the future, I want to do a job relating to English and Japanese translation, so it was great to have been able to have that experience☆ My time in Kannonyama is coming to an end…It was short but I’m happy I was able to have such a great time here. I was able to feel the sense of community at Kannonyama. I think it’s a really great place to work! Take care, everyone~

Good evening everyone!　I just got back from Mt. Koya ☆　The weather was cool, the scenery was pretty, it was really great!
Last night, I went to a tiny festival with Kaichou, Ellie and the three new interns. It was Ellie’s first festival! I was really happy to be able to do goldfish catching, eat delicious food and see the Bon festival dances!

 

Ellie here! Going to Mt. Koya with Tina today was really fun ♪　Tina taught me lots of interesting things about Japanese history! Last night’s festival was small but it was really great ☆　I was really happy to have been able to wear yukata with Tina!

昨夜、会長とエリーちゃんと新しい三人の研修生と小さい祭に行ってきました。エリーちゃんの初めての祭でした。金魚すくいをしたり、美味しい食べ物を食べたり、盆踊りを見たりできて嬉しかったです！

 

エリーです！今日ティナちゃんと一緒に高野山に行くのは楽しかったです♪　ティナちゃんに日本の歴史について色んな面白い事を教えてもらいました！　昨夜の祭は小さかったけど、とても良かったです☆ティナちゃんと二人で浴衣を着れて嬉しかったです！

It’s really hot today!☆
The monthly selling season is back in full swing! Everyone is doing their best so please cheer us on!
Today three new interns have arrived! It looks like they’re gonna be here for about 10 days! I hope we can become good friends! It seems like it would be really tough to come in the busy selling season, but they’re all working enthusiastically with smiles on their faces! I think they’re going to be wonderful interns~
Ellie seems to also be doing her best♪I wonder what she thinks of country life??
Tomorrow I may be going to Mt. Koya again so if I don’t update I’m sorry!!
Let’s keep doing our best!

 

Ellie here! I’ve only been in Kannonyama for two days now, but my impression of Wakayama so far is that the scenery is really beautiful and everyone is really nice♪ There are quite a lot of bugs though…;P
There’s not much time left before I have to leave, but there are still a lot of things that I want to experience! ☆

Long time no see everybody! I’m really sorry for not updating for such a long time, but I’ve brought adorable Ellie back from Kobe with me, so please forgive me! ;P
Before I went back to Kobe, I went to Kokawa Festival with Ise-san and Saki-san and Kaichou! Wearing a yukata, eating delicious flavoured ice, getting omikuji…it was really great! I really feel lucky that I am able to be an intern at Kannonyama!

It rained again today and apparently there will be another typhoon on the weekend! Weird weather…
Today was boxing orders, labeling jam and jelly! So much jelly…
The flowers on the kumquat trees suddenly bloomed today and lots of honey bees are coming to visit! Lots of different types of peaches are arriving! AND WATERMELON!
Every day there is a little change～

 

今日も雨で、今週末また台風が来るらしいです。変な天気。。。
今日は注文を箱に詰めたり、ジャムとジェリーのシール張りをしたりしました！ジェリー本当に沢山ありました。。。
今日金柑の木の花が急に咲いてきて、沢山ミツバチちゃんが訪ねてきてくれています！沢山の種類のモモが届いています！スイカも！！！

Even though the monsoon season has officially ended, it rained heavily today.
Today’s fruit tasting was plum! Tasty!! They were a bit sour though…
Because it rained, you can’t work in the fruit fields. So today I worked with everyone who usually works in the fields putting labels on juice bottles.
It’s so relaxing here.

 

梅雨が明けたのに、今日は大雨でした！
今日の試食はスモモでした！美味しかったです！ちょっとすっぱかったけど。。。
大雨だったので、畑で働けなくなります。だから、今日普段畑で働くみんなと選果場でシール張りをしました。

Day after the barbeque and everyone is busy back at work!
Today I learnt to use some of the machinery used to wrap packages ready for sending! So cool!
Later in the afternoon when it was a bit less busy, I helped Hikari-san make a small sign for customers who come to the office. After that, I learnt how to wrap the lemon trees that are sent to customers!
I wonder what new things I might learn tomorrow.

 

バーベキューの翌日！みんなまた仕事に戻って、頑張っています！
今日発送を待っている箱を結束する機械の使い方を習いました！すごーい！
昼ぐらいちょっと暇になってきたときに、ひかりさんが事務所まで来てくれるお客さんの為の小さい看板を作るのを手伝いました。その後、お客さんに送るレモンツリーの包み方を習いました！
明日何の新しい事を習うのかな～

It seems that the monsoon season is finally over!
Tonight there was a huge barbeque that everyone attended. It was great to spend time with everyone! We even did nagashi-soumen! (Where you put soumen noodles into flowing water and people eat it as it gets to them.)
I ended up singing karaoke and as a reward I was given some amazing mushrooms! Thank you!!
To finish off we had mini-fireworks, luckily it stays warm at night time in Japan in summer.

 

梅雨が明けたらしいですね！
今晩、みんなで大きなバーベキューやりました！みんなと楽しい時間を過ごせてうれしかったです！流しそうめんもしました！楽しかった！！
結局私がカラオケをすることになちゃって、ご褒美で素晴らしい松茸をもらいました！本当にありがとうございます！
最後にちっちゃい花火をやりました。夏でも日本の夜は暑いなんていいですね！

Back to work today! The weather is still and beautiful, it’s like we didn’t just have a typhoon.
Today the orders for peaches are coming in! Looking forward to eating more of them! tongue emoticon
Went and threw away the unwanted fruit with Kogu-san before going to a storeroom that feels like a super secret cabin up on the mountain!
Being back at work is so much better than having nothing to do!

 

今日仕事に戻りました！天気はキレイで、晴れています。全然台風があったようじゃないですね。
今日モモの注文が沢山きています！また食べられるときを楽しみにしています！＾＾ｖ
コグさんと不要なフルーツを捨てに行って、山腹にあるすごく秘密的な感じの小屋みたいな物置にも行きました！
絶対、何もしなくてもいいより、働けることの方がいいです！これからも頑張ります！

Sorry for the late update again! I’ve been ill! Tried too hard…so weak…
On Tuesday I finally got to go and work in the fruit fields! The weather was beautiful and I felt rejuvenated by being outside with nature! Got some really cool work clothes and everything!
But I woke up the next day and I was ill…
I worked again on Thursday picking oranges that were too small, so that the other oranges can grow bigger.
Looking forward to feeling 100% again!


また遅くなってすみません！！今回病気でした。頑張りすぎました。。。弱い。。。
火曜日にやっと畑で働いてきました！天気も景色も素敵でした☆自然の中で働くことですごく元気になった気がしました！恰好いい作業着を着ましたし！
翌日起きて、病気になりました。。。
木曜日にまた働いて、摘果していました。
また元気になって働けるのを楽しみにしています！

Hi everyone!　Sorry for not updating, I went to Kobe for the weekend!　Coming back to Kannonyama after being in a city really makes the difference in air quality obvious. It is so clear up here.
The fruit we had today to taste were grapes! I have never seen such big grapes in England! They were really good 😀
It is the beginning of the seasonal selling season, and things are in full swing. When I left I didn’t think it could get this busy, or this hot!! But even in the heat, the mood is jovial and everyone is working together.
Looking forward to the rest of the week!

Today was filled with sun showers. The rain isn’t quite letting up, but the sun is starting to come through.
The morning was spent packaging jam; I was getting hungry just looking at it. Learnt how to fold boxes, I’m going to become an origami-master! As a new product to try, customers get a bottle of juice cider as a present, I was also packing those in protective wrapping to prepare them for shipping.
Today Aoi-san came back from a trip to the Issei shrine! She brought me back a tiny bunny chopstick holder as a present. Thank you!!
Saki-san is trying to think up ideas for the title of this month’s monthly pamphlet. Her calligraphy is amazing! Uhuhu…

今日、狐の嫁入りが沢山ありました。梅雨はまだ明けてないんですけど、陽射しがだんだん射してきています。
朝はジャムのパッキングでした！ジャムを見るだけでお腹すきます～！箱の折り方を習いました。折り紙マスターになっていきま～す！　お客さんはプレゼントで新商品のサイダーをもらいます。発送の準備のためにそのサイダーをプチプチに包んだりしました。
今日あおいさんが伊勢神宮の旅行から戻ってきました！おみやげでちっちゃいウサギちゃんの箸置きをもらいました。本当に有難うございます！！

Listening to the sound of rain while quietly packing boxes on a beautiful mountainside really calms the mind.
Today’s fruit tasting was tomatoes! I usually don’t like tomatoes, but these were amazing.
The afternoon was spent packing orders for customers and putting the labels on lemon marmalade with Saki-san.
I’m very lucky to work with such lovely people.

 

綺麗な山腹で雨垂れの音を聞きながら、靜かに瓶詰めして本当に落ち着きます。
今日の試食はトマトでした！普段、私はトマトが好きじゃないんですけど、今日のトマトはすごく美味しかったです。
午後は咲さんとお客さんの注文を瓶詰めしたり、レモン・マーマレードのシールを張ったりしました。
優しい人と働けることがありがたいです。

Hello everyone! Another rainy day at Kannonyama Fruits Garden, when will the monsoon season end…? But as the season changes, so too does the produce that comes along with it…what will be next??
The morning was spent packing orders of honey for customers and going to see where the honey is bottled before being sold, I even helped out a bit!
It will soon be prime peach season, so we were lucky enough to receive a new variety of peach from a local farmer to taste. Incredibly lucky to be in a place with all-you-can-eat delicious fruits all year `round!
Looking forward to the new challenges that will come with the change of season.

 

皆さん、こんにちは！今日も観音山フルーツガーデンは大雨でした、梅雨はいつ明けるでしょう。。。でも、季節が変わると共に、フルーツも変わります。次は何でしょう？？
今朝はお客さんが注文したはちみつのパッキングしたり、販売する前にはちみつを瓶詰めする職場を手伝ったりしました。
もうすぐ桃の時期ですので、近くの農家さんから試食のための新しい種類の桃をもらいました。美味しいです。一年中フルーツが食べ放題の場所に居るなんてすごくラッキーです！
フルーツを通じて日本の季節の変化を楽しみにしています。
